Gustavo Silva Nuñez

Gustavo Silva Nuñez is a hyperrealistic painter. He specializes in creating scenes of people floating, swimming, or even just sitting in water. The level of realism in his paintings is pretty darned amazing, but Nuñez likes to take his art a step further.

When he's finished with his paintings, Nuñez poses with them to create an optical illusion of sorts. The result is that it looks like he's actually interacting with the people on the canvass. It's pretty amazing, and works because his paintings are so realistic.

Yukimi Nagano: Our type of girl

She's the lead singer of the band Little Dragon. Yukimi Nagano originally from Gothenburg established the band with the high school friend Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Wallin (Bass) and Håkan Wirenstrand (Keyboards).

She's Asian (yes, I'm in love with Asian women) and with an incredible look and a fantastic voice. If I were straight, she'd be the girl of my dreams.

What is fashion?

Fashion is all about sex. It's about playing up to the camera, selling your body for the thing that you ware wearing.

It's about the filth. It's about the cocktails. The parties. The lifestyle.

It's about looking fucking amazing getting the things that you want out of life.

Hell yea, we're here!

This is it. This is the first blog post of many more to come. The first post of our new brand Smoke and Mirror and you have no idea how happy it feels to be writing on a blog about a fashion brand we have been dreaming about for so many years.

Who are Smoke and Mirror?

We are a just a couple of guys who want to make a difference. Between us we have almost 16 years experience working in fashion for the likes of the late designer, Alexander McQueen to the popular high street skate brand Vans. We've done just about everything, and we thought fuck it, we want to start producing a collection that we have full control of, designing clothes that we love which is much needed in a drab menswear market we have today.

Smoke and Mirror will be hand made in Switzerland using fabrics sourced from directly Italy. Think All Saints meets good old Dame Vivienne Westwood, and then you'll arrive at us, smack bang in the middle.

Our clothes and accessories will also be ethically aware. Don't think tree hugging hippies, but think of our factories will be small, family run businesses which still hold family values in this day and age. Our tags will be made from recycled cardboard using hemp string to fix them onto the garments. Our prints will be printed in Germany in a factory which is also mindful of the environment and finally our leathers will be made from paper...yup, freaking paper - but theres more to come on this in the future.
